James Pylant. "County courts were required by law to bind out poor orphans or minors to
court-appointed individuals who were responsible for the child's education and training in a
useful trade, as well as providing 'sufficient diet, washing, lodging, and apparel.' Each entry
in this abstract lists the date of the indenture, name of the orphan, age (if given), and the
individual to whom the orphan was bound."

"Most city or small town newspapers served the surrounding farming regions as well. . . By the
turn of the century most local papers had regular 'stringers' who sent in social notes from villages
or cross-roads communities. Knowing who came to town for a funeral can be very helpful to family

De Ville. "In spite of a relatively minor counter-revolt against Spain following the fall of English
rule at the end of the American Revolution, English and American residents of the Natchez, Mississippi,
area continued living there in peace with their Spanish captors."
Odle-Poston Cemetery, Bosque County, Texas. By Shirley Brittain Cawyer. "Located on
the southern line of Bosque County near the McLennan County line, on Big Creek, this old cemetery
is fenced, fairly well maintained, and has many unmarked graves."
