- Miles Carey (1620-1667), who married Anne Taylor,
emigrated to Virginia from England about 1650. Descendants of Miles
Cary of Windmill Point, Virginia, were covered in May Folk Webb's
Cary-Estes genealogy, published in 1939 and reprinted in 1979. This book also traces
the descendants of Abraham Estes of King & Queen County, Virginia.
- Helen Estes Seltzer's
The Cary-Estes-Moore genealogy, a companion volume to Webb's work, was published
in 1981. Related families of the Moores included the Yates, Smith, Hall, Leak, Terry,
and Crawford lines, all of whom migrated to Tennessee from North Carolina in the early
1800s.
