Christ Church, PhiladelphiaChrist Church, located on Second Street above Market Street, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. A portion of this building was erected in 1727 and the remainder was constructed at various intervals. Presidents Washington and Adams worshipped here and Benjamin Franklin had a pew in this church for many years. Many great patriots of the Revolution are interred in the adjacent grounds and under the floor of the church. |
