Their children:1

  1. JOSEPH DAVID BOUND, born 5 April 1847 in England and died 4 June 1906. He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Fort Worth.2 On 27 October 1874, he married Emma E. Hearns in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.3 During her residence in Cleveland in 1879, Mrs. Emma E. Bounds was a confectioner at 146 Lorain, the residence of J. D. Bound, a hoop maker.4 The census enumeration for 1880 shows the Cleveland household of Joseph Bound, a thirty-three year-old cooper, with wife Emma, age twenty-five, born in Ohio; son Harry, age three, born in Ohio; and brother Harry, age twenty-eight, an English-born machinist.5 The Bounds joined their relatives in Fort Worth within a few years. Emma E. Bound, "wife of J. D.," was born 1 November 1851 and died of consumption on 18 October 1885. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, in Fort Worth. Their child:
    • HARRY DAVIS BOUND, b. 27 May 1877, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co. OH - d. 7 Dec. 1934, Cleveland; m. (2) 1899, to Bertha Emma Grafton; m. (2) Victoria [—?—].6 In 1900, Harry Bound, age thirty-three, a bridge constructor, born in May of 1877 in Ohio, is listed as a son-in-law in the household of Lucy Grafton, in Cleveland. His wife, Bertha, age nineteen (born in April of 1881 in Illinois) had been married two years, and they had one child, Myrtle Bound, born in November, 1899 in Ohio.7


  2. FREDERICK G[ILINGHAM?] BOUND was born 11 May 1848, reportedly in Longham, Dorset County, England, and died of nephritis on 18 August 1920 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.8 After Ann Bound’s death, son Frederick Bound, age seventy-one, had taken a boarder, a seventy-three year-old widower named Jacob Lesh, born in Pennsylvania.9

  7. ROBERT BOUND, born ca. 1858 in (perhaps Cleveland, Cuyahoga County) Ohio. In 1879, Robert Bound of Cleveland worked as a coachman for George Cooper.10

  8. ANNA MAY "ANNIE" BOUND, born ca. 1859 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. She married G. W. Miller in 1884 in Tarrant County.11 As per Reagan Scott, Anna May Bound Miller died 7 December 1937 in Kildare, Oklahoma. Her husband, George Washington Miller, was born 29 February 1856 in Jones Mills, Pennsylvania. Their children were:12
    • CELIA MILLER, b. 2 Jun. 1885, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, TX.
    • GRACE MILLER, b. 5 Jan. 1887, Lincoln, IL.
    • DAVID DEWITT MILLER, b. 1889, Lincoln, IL.
    • FRED EUGENE MILLER, born 2 Mar. 1895, Kay Co. OK.


  9. WILLIAM BOUND born in June of 1862 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Living at 1104 Elizabeth was William Bound, a car inspector for the railroad, at the time of the 1900 census. His wife, Emma E. [—?—], was born in May of 1869 in Iowa to a Scottish-born father and a Michigander mother. The couple had been married ten years, and Emma E. was the mother of one child. Daughter Zelda B., was born in Texas in February of 1895.13 By 1910, William and Emma had another child, Violet, age eight. William was still employed as a railroad car inspector.14 Their children:

    • VIOLETTA BOUND, b. ca. 1902, TX; m. 1919, Fort Worth, to B. D. Cantrell.15


  10. GEORGE BOUND, born 1 February, 1865 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and died on 18 August 1942 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.16 In 1892, George Bound married Mary Belle Spaulding, in Fort Worth.17 The daughter of Horace Spaulding and the former Jane Henry, she was born 22 November 1864 in Macoupin County, Illinois, and died 1 July 1944 in Fort Worth.18 At the time of the 1900 census, George Bound lived at 415 Crunk Street. The gunsmith and electrician was thirty-five, his birth occurring in February of 1865. Wife Belle, the same age, was born in November 1864 in Illinois. According to the 1900 census, she had given birth to three children, all of whom were living. They were Ethel, born December, 1893; Birdie, born October, 1895; and Anna, born February, 1897. Also living with the Bound family was Birdie Spaulding, who is listed as an unmarried "sister" (sister-in-law) to the head of the household. She was born in Illinois in January of 1878, her father an Illinois native and her mother a Pennsylvania, as were the father and mother of George’s wife.19 The 1902-1903 Fort Worth City Directory shows George Bound and Francis W. Broiles were partners under the business name of Bound & Broiles, "expert electricians, gun and locksmiths, dealers in electrical supplies, fans, gas, electric and combination fixtures," operated business at 1006 Houston.20 However, the next edition of the city directory shows George Bound was manager of Bound Electric Co., "electricians, dealers in electrical supplies, safe works and general repairs."21 By 1910, George Bound and family were living at 1721 Alston Avenue. He was forty-six, an electrician, and Mary B., also forty-six, was the mother of five children, four of whom were living: Ethel [Ethyl], a seventeen year-old stenographer for an electric company; Birdie, age fourteen; Annie, age thirteen; and Alice, age eight.22 Cullen Davis, a grandson of George Bound, was a small child when his maternal grandfather died. "He was in the electric fan business, and he lived on Hemphill Street," says Davis.23 Mr. and Mrs. Bound were buried at Oakwood Cemetery, but both graves were moved to Greenwood Cemetery.24 Their children:
    • JOHN EARL BOUND, born 26 December 1892 and died 2 March 1900. He was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Fort Worth.25
    • ETHYL BOUND, stenographer, b. TX; m. 1916, Fort Worth, to S. C. McLean.26
    • BIRDIE BOUND, b. TX; m. 1916, Fort Worth, to R. L. Harris.27
    • ANN L. BOUND, b. TX; m. 1918, Fort Worth, to Henry B. Bernhardt.28 According to nephew Cullen Davis, Ann Bound’s husband, Dr. Bernhardt, was Jewish. They moved to Chicago.29
    • ALICE MAE BOUND, b. ca. 1902, Fort Worth, Tarrant Co. TX - d. 27 Feb. 1967, Fort Worth30; m. 1921, Fort Worth, to Kenneth W. Davis.31 Alice Bound Davis served on the board of the Fort Worth Civic Opera Association and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.32


  11. LUCY E. BOUND, born 19 April 1869 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and died 19 March 1913 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.33 A music teacher, she never married and made her home with her mother and brother in later years.
