GEORGE MORRIS, SR.

GEORGE MORRIS, SR., was the first Baptist settler in Center community; was born in Mississippi in 1826; was baptized into Big Sandy church, Sabine county, Texas, by Elder Sam Lacy, in 1863; moved to Falls county in 1863, and was in the organization of both Hope and Center churches. He died in Trinity county, Texas, in 1891.
