A German family named Turk came to America in the late 1700s, settling in Pennsylvania,

Revolutionary War Soldiers, was compiled and published by Juanita Anderson Towle in San
Bernardino, California, about 1986.
- Richard Turk (1792-1881), a native of Kent, England, married Rebecca Frost (1793-
1880), and came to New York in 1837. They later moved to Lake County, Illinois. See A Turk
Family Book, a collection of genealogical tables and pictures, available on microfilm (number
1697401) at the Family History Library, in Salt Lake City, or by interlibrary loan at its regional Family
History Centers.
- William Turk (1774-1795) came with his parents, James and Mary, to America from Ireland.
The family settled in South Carolina, but he later moved to Franklin County, Georgia. See Helen
