Effie Ireland McManigal was born 31 March 1873 in Leon, IA, and died 19 January 1936 in Winner, SD. She was the daughter of George and Lucinda Miller Ireland. She married Daniel McManigal in 1903. Obituary from the Pilot Tribune, Blair, Nebraska, 30 Jan 1936: Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Blair, Monday, for Mrs Dan (Effie) McManigal of Hamill, SD., former Blairite who died at Winner Saturday. The Rev H. S. Souter officiated. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery. Born at Leon, IA Mar 31, 1873 as Effie E. Ireland. Mrs. McManigal was 62 yrs of age at the time of her passing. At the age of 13 she came to Nebraska with her parents and resided in a homestead in the western part of the state until 1894 when the Irelands moved to Blair. She married Dan McManigal in 1903. In 1915 the McManigals moved to Glenwood, IA and from there to the present home in Hamill SD. Surviving are husband and two children Mrs. Lucy Baur of Tabor SD and Robert McManigal of Hamill SD. Three brothers, Johnathan Preston Ireland of Omaha; A. M. of Fort Calhoun and Charles W. of Norfolk. Her parents were George Ireland & Lucinda Miller. |
