Frank Damron obituary

Mineral Wells Index, 21 September 1916

DEATH OF PROMINENT HOTEL MAN.

Last night Mr. Frank Damron, proprietor of the Damron Hotel was stricken at about 9 o’clock with dilation of the heart. Death came to him at 11 o’clock. Mr. Damron has been prominently identified with the hotel interests of Mineral Wells for several years., and also strongly identified with the growth and development of the city as a Health Resort. He has been very active, as far as his health would permit, in every movement for progress and advancement of the community of his adoption.

He was born in Vienna, Al., fifty-six years ago and is survived by his wife and several sisters.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock at the First Presbyterian Church by Dr. W.R. Potter after which burial will be had under the direction of Beetham & Son in Elmwood Cemetery.

The profound sympathy of the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Damron is extended to the grief-stricken wife in this hour of her great bereavement. The Index joins in this extension of sympathy to Mrs. Damron and regrets its inability to say just the things calculated to make the gloom less dense and the sorrow less poignant. Mere words cannot heal the wounds made by the hand of death in removing some loved one. Time and a supreme faith, ever pointing the way, can only bring surcease from such sorrow.
