Mrs. J. M. Rainwater biography

Mrs. Rainwater of 2129 Quintard Avenue, Anniston, Ala., was born Stellaville, Jefferson County, Georgia. She is the daughter of William Henry Jones and Julia Palmer Jones. She is the granddaughter of the Henry Joneses and the William R. Palmers. She was married to Mr. Rainwater Oct. 18, 1905, in Augusta, Georgia. Their children are Julian M., Harry W., Ralph L., Virginia, and Frank. Her other surviving relatives include three sisters: Mrs. Wilson J. Culpepper, Mrs. W. Samuel Norton, and Mrs. Richard L. House.

She is a member of the First Methodist Church in Anniston, Ala., the Chautauqua Study Club, and the Woman’s Club. She has held offices such as chairman and corresponding secretary.

She attended Houghton Grammar School, and Tubman High School both located in Augusta, Ga. Her present occupation is that of a housewife and mother. She is a widow. Her husband was formerly connected with the Coca Cola Bottling Company. She has visited in California, New York, Washington, Canada, Virginia and North Carolina. Her hobbies are collecting stamps, clippings, art and pitchers.
