Mrs. Pete S. Baker biography

Mrs. Baker, a native of Dora, Alabama, was born there July 19, 1911. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Petty Shaw. She is the granddaughter of Sarah Connor and James Marion Shaw and Amelia Fabing and George Kinder.

She became the bride of Dr. Baker in Birmingham, Alabama, April 28, 1940. They have no children. She has a brother, Harry K. Shaw, owner of Shaw Drug Company, Dora, Alabama.

She is a member of Walker County Medical Auxiliary, Anne Hutchinson Study Club, Noah Daniel Chapter, O.E.S. #456. She is Past President of Anne Hutchinson Study Club, W. M. Eastern Star, Grand Ruth of State O.E.S. 1949—50, and Grand representative of Florida in Alabama O.E.S.

She attended Dora Grammar and High School and Massey Business College, Birmingham, Alabama. She is a housewife. Her husband is a Medical Director. She has visited the entire state of Florida, New York City, Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit, Windsor, Canada; and Washington, D.C.
